Drummer and Percussionist

 Juan Pablo Faúndez (born December 22, 1997) is a Chilean drummer from Linares, Chile.

From a very young age he had a close relationship with music because he came from a family of Musicians, at age 6 he began taking piano lessons at the Conservatory of Music of the University of Talca.

He started playing drums at the age of 10 and at the age of 12 he was part of his church band and had the chance to participate in gospel music concerts and he performed with the ''Orquesta sinfonica de Linares'' when he was 14 years old, Then he began to receive classes with outstanding drummers in Chile, by his 15 he had played professionally.

Back in 2015 he received a full scholarship to attend the Five week program at Berklee college of music where he learned and experience a very rich musical environment and after this experience he decided to pursue his studies at Berklee college of Music after he graduated form high school.


When he was 17 years old and he got back to Chile after his amazing first experience at Berklee he played around Santiago musical scene and touring around his country with different bands, dozens of Jazz festivals, Drum festivals doing clinics, Radio and TV shows allowing him to grow musically at a very young age and be proficient in many styles and musical situations during  two years.


When he was 19 years old he decided to audition Berklee, he received his Latin Tour Berklee scholarship by Berklee and the ''Gifted Tuition Scholarship'' (100.000) by Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation and he moved to Boston, USA to pursue his Bachelor Degree at Berklee College of Music.

Thanks to this Latin Grammy scholarship he got the opportunity to play with the well-known latin Pop star Miguel Bose.


These days he keeps studying at Berklee and he received for second time the ''Latin Gifted scholarship'' by LGCF and he also received the ''Freddie Gruber Scholarship 2019'' , 

 ''Armand Zildjian Percussion Scholarship 2020'' and ''Neil Peart DrumSet Scholarship''

 by the Percussive Arts Society.


Throughout his career he has had the opportunity to play and record with Noel Schajris, Miguel Bose, Jesus Molina Acosta, Arturo Sandoval, Kevin Powell, Roy Hargrove, Rock n' Riley (Battles of the Bands Winner), Maya Rae, Niu Raza, Makadi, Eduardo Betancourt, Christell Rodriguez, Afy, Jordan Leia.
